WET WEEKEND: Most of the weekend will be wet and cool across the state. Today readings will remain in the 50s with maybe a 60° reading possible. MOS is forecasting 50° for Mason City (which might be too cold), 54° at Ames, Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs and Ottumwa, and 55° at Des Moines and Sioux City. Lows will be in the 40s with a few upper 30s possible. Sunday should see the rain departing with slightly warmer readings back into the lower to middle 60s across the western half with mid 50s to near 60 across the east where the rain should last into the early afternoon.

DRY SUNNY START: The beginning of the week will be far cry from the wet and cool weekend. Temperatures will rebound back into the mid 60s to lower 70s across the state under mostly sunny skies. This will last into Thursday when a new storm system begins to move in from the SW bringing the next chance of showers and thunderstorms to the state at that time.

FAR OUT: Out past seven days, another storm may move through at mid-week (May 24-25th), with Memorial Day weekend looking rather mixed at the moment with possible warm temperatures. Remember looking this far ahead, things will change drastically as we draw closer to the time period.
