The storm precidiciton center has issued a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms for a large part of the Upper Midwest, and this includes all of the local area. Thunderstorms if a cap erodes during the late evening to overnight hours could quickly develope on a strong warm front over eastern Minnesota and move Northeast into the local area. The best chance of this will be around evening and overnight. The main threats with system will be large hail, very heavy rain, strong damaging wind gusts and even the chance for tornados. People in the local area should know that there is at least a chance of severe weather this evening and tonight.
