MID WEEK RAIN: More dry days ahead with cooler conditions, which will be good for farmers to head out to the fields to begin planting their crops for the season. The next chance of rain will hold off until late Wednesday into Thursday across the state with a cold front moving in from the west. Severe Weather is not expected with this storm, and rainfall amounts will be light, generally under a half inch.

MID MAY: Out in voo-doo, a large storm system is possible around the 10th and 11th of the month that may bring a chance of some severe weather to the state. Given the amount of attention that has been placed on what occurred down in the south last week, we will pay close attention to any storms (even in voo-doo) that may bring severe weather chances back to the state, however this could go away on the next run.

LATE FROST?: At the end of the period, a large trough over the east could bring a late season frost over the eastern counties of the state. Remember frost and freeze conditions can still occur into the first week of May across a large portion of the state. NW Iowa can see frost conditions on average even into the middle of May.
