Cold Monday with second freeze possible. Turning decent with sunshine by Tuesday, and nice by Wednesday.

Regional weather view.

Yet another cold couple days ahead for an Upper Midwest that is way more then sick of it! Frost or Freeze conditions are possible from north to south as high temperatures struggle to reach the levels forecasted. Snow flurries are even still possible in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Warmer conditions will show it’s shy face by Tuesday and Wednesday, which will be dry.

Local weather view.

I’ve seen countless blogs, twitter updates and facebook posts regarding below average temperature possibilities in our further, so instead of griping on this topic I will focus on the question everyone wants to know, and that is “When will it be warm enough to go outside and enjoy myself!” I believe Tuesday, although will be chilly with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the upper 30s, it will be our next day with sunshine, and it should not be too bad to be outdoors, with more calm winds. Wednesday will really be the next nice day and the nicest out of the 3, it will sunny with highs in the 60s lows in the 40s. So if anyone is planning outdoor actives, Wednesday definitely looks the way to go. Going back to Monday now will be cold and cloud but there will be sun sun at times, It not as breezy as Sunday was. Occasional flurries or drizzle will be possible as well highs will be in the mid 40s and lows in the upper 20s to low 30s, Anyone that has an interest in gardening should again take in or cover any annuals, spring bulbs and early trees and shrubs that may have begun to flower, or they could be harmed by freezing conditions. The only thing that can save us from getting a second freeze will be if we either get clouds, or it warms up nicely during the day.

Monday, Cold and mostly cloudy but not as breezy, a chance of flurries or drizzle. Highs in the mid 40s. Monday Night Clearing skies, cold lows in the upper 20s to low 30s. Freeze Possible

Tuesday, Warmer, sunny skies with highs in the upper 50s. Tuesday night, clear skies, lows in the upper 30s.

Wednesday, Nice, sunny skies dry conditions with highs in the low to mid 60s. Wednesday Night, increasing clouds, lows in the low 40s.

Looking Ahead

I still believe the long range forecast is improving, Thursday and Friday of the this week looks to be cloudier with a chance of showers maybe some thunderstorms as well. Temperatures during this time look cooler, but not nearly as cold as what we just went thorough. Then on Sunday may 8th through Wednesday may 11th, a potentially warm-up with off and on chances of thunderstorms every other day. Thursday, May 12th through Friday may 13th it dries out and temps remain fair. Then towards Saturday and Sunday the 14th/15th the models tried to bring in cooler air from the north, but I am not putting anything into that since it is so far away. More closer to the end of the models it looks drier with fair temps. So overall the model run does bring us a more stable weather pattern instead of up ups and downs we’ve been experiencing.
