COOL WEEK: Temperatures are likely to remain at or below average for this time of year for the rest of the week (sans possibly Friday), with chances of rain ending later today and maybe a possible sprinkle or two Wednesday but no more precip chances again until late Friday night (west) through Saturday afternoon (east). The storm Friday into Saturday will be a quick mover thus light amounts are expected (Most of the heavy amounts shown on the QPF chart are from the storm that is departing later today)
MAY STORM: The storm is still on the model run at mid week of next week. It’s not as strong as a few days ago and it’s slower, occuring over a two day period (Wed and Thurs). There could be severe weather with that storm, but it’s too early to determine that at this time.
FLOODING: Unlike what’s going on down in the south the last few days, flooding concerns aren’t that bad. The Mississippi River is falling across the area. Other rivers including the Missouri River at Nebraska City, The West Fork Des Moines, Des Moines, Little Sioux and Big Sioux Rivers remain above flood stage and will fall below over the next week.
