NEXT STORM: Precipitation will move back into the state as early as very late tonight or Thursday morning with a weak front moving in from the northwest. Regardless if any precipitation comes from that storm, a new one to the south and west will be the main focus of weather over the next couple of days with heavy rain possible across the state aggrevating flooding issues. This model run is warmer than the 00z run yesterday and model runs in between. If there is any snow or a mix, its likely to occur Friday night, Saturday morning across the far northern counties as the precipitation ends from west to east. It will be dry again until early next week with another cold front and showers and thunderstorms possible as well.

FLOODING: Rivers remain high on the West Fork Des Moines, Big Sioux and especially the Mississippi. A new update on the Mississippi River flooding will be coming later today. Crests across NE Iowa look to be next Tuesday or Wednesday, with crests possibly 10-14 days from now further downstream. Flood Warnings along the MS River are likely to continue through April into May.
