Wind Advisory Through Noon Saturday

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory in effect from Midnight until Noon Saturday for the following counties, Emmet, Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth, Palo Alt, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Butler, Bremer, Grundy, Black Hawk, Mitchell, Howard, Winneshiek, Allamakee, Floyd, Chickasaw, Fayette and Clayton.

There is a Wind Advisory in effect until 3am Saturday for Lyon, Sioux, Woodbury and Plymouth counties along with Osceola, Dickinson, O’Brien, Clay, Cherokee, Buena Vista and Ida until 6am Saturday

As a cold front sweeps across the state tonight, northwesterly winds will begin to pick up to 25-40mph with some higher gusts possible. Wind Chills are expected to be a big problem given the temperatures, however wind chill readings into the single digits and teens will be possible by Saturday morning across the northern counties of the state. The wind will begin to die down below advisory limits during the late morning hours.
