Light to moderate snow is currently falling late this afternoon across the southern sections of the state, mainly south of a Cedar Rapids to Des Moines to Omaha line. This is slowly moving to the northeast. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect for these areas, with Winter Storm Warnings in effect for far SE Iowa and some counties in central and south central Iowa. The heaviest accumulations will remain over the far southern and southeastern sections where up to 7-8″ will be possible by daybreak Friday. Lighter amounts of 3-5″ will be possible in a 30 miles either side of a Council Bluffs to Indianola to Pella to Washington to Quad Cities Line, with 1-3″ of snow from there to about US Hwy 20. There north may receieve up to an inch. This storm will be gone by Friday morning, but more snow is on the way late Friday with an upper level feature. This will continue until the next large storm moves in for Sunday into Monday.
