GOODBYE APRIL: Temperatures typical of the early days of April is history now as a cold front has moved through the state this evening and overnight switching the winds back to the northwest. However, readings aren’t going back to the bitter chill of January. Highs today will be in the 40s to around 50, still above normal for Mid to late February.

RAIN, ICE, SNOW?: Questions are being answered with the latest storm that will move into the state late Saturday night through Monday. There is a good liklihood most of the precipitation across the state from this storm will be in the form of rain, but Saturday night and Sunday morning, there is a good chance that it will begin as some light freezing rain or sleet across the state before temperatures warm enough for the precipitation to change to all rain. As cold air moves back into the state as the storm departs, some light snow will be possible with accumulations possible across the northern counties, mainly north of US Hwy 20 as of right now.

MID WEEK MESS: Another storm similiar to this storm this weekend will be making its appearance in the state late Wednesday into Thursday. Some mixed precipitation will be possible with some rain across the far SE and some snow across the NW. As that moves off, colder air moves south into the state in time for another piece of energy to rotate around the trough out to the west. That could bring some light to moderate snow across the state by next weekend. Of course that’s in voo-doo territory and will likely change on the next run.
