Temperatures today were slightly cooler than Sunday as a cold front moved through the state last night and this morning, bringing strong winds this morning. However, readings were still well into the upper 30s and 40s across the state, with more snow melting. Some places in southern Iowa now have NO snow on the ground outside of ditches and shaded locations. Most of the snowpack that was on the ground was the light fluffy snow that when it melts compacts down and melts quickly. It will remain above average through Thursday when temperatures statewide will be well into the 50s with a few locations possibly in the 60s.
