The National Weather Service has now upgraded the Winter Storm Watch to a BLIZZARD WARNING from 3pm Tuesday until Noon Wednesday for Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott and Washington counties. There is also a BLIZZARD WARNING from Noon Tuesday afternoon until Noon Wednesday for Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Lee, Van Buren, Appanoose, Black Hawk, Clarke, Davis Decatur, Grundy, Jasper, Lucas, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Story, Tama, Wapello, Warren and Wayne.
The National Weather Service in Des Moines has gone with a Winter Storm Warning from Noon Tuesday until Noon Wednesday for Adair, Adams, Audubon, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Cass, Dallas, Greene, Guthrie, Hardin, Madison, Ringgold, Taylor and Union.
Snow currently falling is with the first storm that will be moving out of the state early tomorrow morning. The second storm will move into the state early Tuesday afternoon with moderate to heavy snow along with strong east to northeast winds gusting to near 40mph at times.
