Looking ahead to next week bitterly cold temperatures will be making a reappearance across the state. With a fresh blanket of snow, light wind and clear skies, temperatures will bottom out below zero once again Wednesday and Thursday morning of next week, with the coldest morning being on Thursday (as an average across all cities). A warming trend will boost these readings back to near the freezing mark by next weekend, but the amount of snow that is expected to fall between now and then could put the brakes on that for the time being.
NOTE: This is based off the 0z GFS Model run which is also predicting a lot of snow over the southern and southeastern sections of the state (some locales may get a foot or more according to this model run) More on that in later posts.
