Dangerously Cold Wind Chills

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory beginning at 6pm this evening and going until 9am Friday morning for Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, Winneshiek, Emmet, Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth, Palo Alto, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Butler, Bremer, Sac, Calhoun, Webster, Hamilton, Grundy, Black Hawk, Greene, Boone, Story, Marshall, Tama, Poweshiek, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Linn, Muscatine and Scott counties. Dangerously cold temperatures (well below zero) along with a slight breeze out of the northwest will lead to wind chills dropping to the -20° to -30° range late tonight through the morning hours of Friday morning. Frostbite will occur on any exposed skin surfaces in less than ten minutes in these conditions. More Advisories are likely forthcoming.
