The next storm which will move into the state on Wednesday and last into Thursday will likely be effecting the southern half of the state this time around. The latest NAM model run (a model that has done quite well with the snowstorms lately) is showing at least 1″ south of Interstate 80 with amounts going up to 4-6″ near the Iowa Missouri border. Advisories may be required later tonight or tomorrow morning for the southern counties of the state for this storm system.
Following this storm, some of the coldest air of the season will be making an appearance (as shown in previous posts), with readings going well below zero if not double digits below zero by Friday morning. Along with some breezy conditions, dangerous wind chills will be possible if not likely at that time.
