Here is the latest snowfall forecast from the NAM Model run at 0z (6pm CT). It has forecasted a lot more snow for the northeastern sections of the state then will probably fall. The image shown above is the snowfall forecast based on the 10:1 ratio (1″ of precipitation (rain) equalling 10″ of snow) which will be fairly close to the ratio for the storm this weekend. Amounts are shown to be at least 3-6″ across a good portion of NC and NE Iowa with some locations possibly seeing over 6″. Whereas this model run has gotten more aggressive with the snow amount, the liklihood will be seeing amounts of 1-4″ with 4 being the isolated heaviest amount, although the NAM nailed the storm this past weekend down almost to a tee. We’ll have to see about this one.
