Light Snow Chances

Light snow is currently moving through parts of the state this afternoon. It’s mainly going to effect the northern and northeastern sections of the state with no more than a dusting of snow. Travel is not expected to be impacted by this storm. Clouds will once again increase again after a short break tomorrow morning, with snow moving back in again late Thursday afternoon into the evening. Another dusting up to an inch is possible across a good portion of the state, with the northern and northeastern half of the state seeing any accumulations near an inch.

The storm to watch is at the middle of next week which is expected to bring the first big arctic chill of 2011 into the state. Accumulating snow is possible and given that most of the state south of US Hwy 30 has little to no snow on the ground after the recent warmup at the end of December, it could be enough for the entire state to get in on the action of the cold arctic air.
