Typical of a spring day, numerous strokes of lightning are lighting up the skies in areas to our south and southwest. Some of these storms will move into the state later this morning into the afternoon. Some of the precipitation will be in the form of freezing rain and or sleet, especially in areas west of a Lamoni to Waterloo line where a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect. In the last two hours there were over 16,000 strokes of lightning across the US, all of which you see on the image.
