The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory beginning at the start of the new year (aka Midnight) Saturday morning and lasting until Noon for the following counties, Chickasaw, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, Boone, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Cerro Gordo, Crawford, Emmet, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Humboldt, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Sac, Webster, Winnebago, Worth and Wright. A Wind Chill Advisory is also in effect beginning at 9pm this evening and lasting until Noon Saturday for Osceola, Dickinson, O’Brien, Clay, Cherokee, Buena Vista and Ida.
* TIMING…VERY COLD TEMPERATURES WILL BEGIN TO ADVANCE ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUE FOR MOST OF THE MORNING ON SATURDAY CAUSING DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS.
* WIND AND WIND CHILL VALUES…NORTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE T0 20 TO 30 MPH BY LATE TONIGHT AND RANGE FROM 25 TO 40 MPH ON SATURDAY CREATING WIND CHILLS OF 20 TO 30 BELOW ZERO.
