The cold front has begun to move into the western sections of the state this afternoon, but along with the colder air moving in, much warmer air has come along for the ride ahead of the front. Temperatures at Des Moines have hit 60° for the first time in several weeks. This is very close to the record high temperature for the day (which is 63° set in 2004). More warmth is forecast for the eastern counties tomorrow before the cold front sweeps in.
