The end of this upcoming week will bring much warmer temperatures to the state. This will lead to some melting of the snowpack and could result in some minor flooding and icejams on area rivers. Along with the warmer temperatures, a storm system with varied precipitation will move into the state as well. Most of the precip in the eastern half of the state will remain in the form of rain beginning Thursday night and lasting through Friday with a mix of snow and sleet in the west. Temperatures will crash Friday night into Saturday with temperatures statewide hovering in the teens and 20s by Sunday the 2nd of January.
