As we move past the Christmas holiday, we look toward New Year’s Day and what could be the next big storm to affect the state. Currently it’s too early to tell what is going to happen and where, but a plethora of precipitation could fall across the area, ranging from rain to freezing rain, sleet or snow. Some of the precipitation could be heavy, which if it is in the form of sleet or freezing rain could become potentially dangerous. More on this storm in the coming days, however in the meantime, temperatures will begin a slow warming trend with readings inching toward the freezing point through the middle to end of next week. No precipitation is likely between now and the storm mentioned above.
