All of Iowa, Winter Weather

Another Snowy Monday

The snowstorm is upon the state late this morning. Currently most of the the snow is falling north and east of a Muscatine to Dysart to Algona line, with another batch of light snow over NW Iowa. The snow will continue over these areas for the rest of the day into this evening. The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until Tuesday morning for the northern and northeastern sections of the state. (A few counties were added earlier in EC Iowa as well).

Further to the south and west of the snow band, temperatures have already risen to or above the freezing mark, a wonderful reprieve from the bitter cold that has enveloped the state over the last few weeks. Some precipitation is possible here as well, most likely in the form of a rain snow mix. There is a chance of some of the precipitation statewide tonight mix with some freezing drizzle along with the snow.

All the precipitation will come to an end early Tuesday morning, with a break of a few days before the next storm moves in right before Christmas, bringing another chance of some snow.
