All of Iowa, Winter Weather

Snowy Night

Light to at times moderate snow continues to fall across the state late this evening. Accumulations so far have been up to 2″, with many locations receiving an inch so far. Snow will continue through the overnight hours into the morning hours of Thursday. Most locations will get between 2-5″ of snow with isolated 6″ totals. There is very little wind to speak of, so blowing and drifting snow is almost non-existant. Travel has become hazardous in many locations with roads either partly or mostly covered with snow. These will improve by Thursday as the snow comes to an end. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect until Noon Thursday for the NE half of the state.
