The road conditions early this morning are still not very good, especially in the areas where the heavy snow fell this past weekend. With the bitterly cold weather, it is very hard for the chemicals that they use to melt the ice and snow off the roads. These conditions will still be somewhat hazardous on the main roads in NC and NE Iowa over the next few days with county and secondary roads elsewhere being in the same shape for several more days.

Another storm is forecast Wednesday into Thursday which will bring more light fluffy snow which will likely bring the road conditions back down again.
