Blizzard Warnings Issued

A Blizzard Warning has been issued for a few counties in NW Iowa through Saturday. The rest of the Blizzard watch area may go under a Blizzard Warning later this afternoon or tonight.

This afternoon does NOT feel like a blizzard is on the way or sub zero temperatures. Readings where there has been no snow on the ground are near or topping 50°!, a far contrast to the snowpack areas which have been stuck in thick fog most of the day and have been hovering a few degrees either side of the freezing mark. Precipitation has begun across the western portions of the state in the form of some light rain. This will continue moving eastward through the evening. UPDATE: Here are the 3pm Temps Below to show the wide range.
