The state will be split in half, with parts of the state staying below the freezing mark, while other parts may see temperature near record highs!
Above is the forecasted high temperatures for the state later today. The northwestern sections of the state will see freezing rain and sleet for most of the day with highs staying at or below the freezing mark. In the central counties, temperatures will rise into the upper 30s to middle 40s with chances of just plain rain. In the southeastern sections of the state, not only are there going to be chances of rain, but there is also a chance of thunderstorms, with some hail possible. None of the storms are expected to contain large hail that would make them severe, but hail up to the size of dimes could be possible with any thunderstorms that develop. Cold air will win the battle, as temperatures will be cooler across the SE sections on Tuesday, with much colder conditions coming to the entire state by Wednesday with a chance of rain and snow at that time.
