Iowa Lakes Equestrian Program at Overlook Farm

The Overlook Farm program is provided to the public as a pet or small farm animal assisted learning program model.

The use of well behaved cats and dogs, horses and small farm animals as learning assistants is well documented in making significant differences to those struggling to become better learners. We are currently seeking city families, farm families and acreage owners interested in hosting learning programs. Our staff provides consultation, training and human service program support while helping you get your program started simply, safely and with tools and skills to be effective leaders and trainers. We help you build your program to meet your unique goals and interests. Begin sharing your talents in a positive way of helping possibly that one family member or neighbor down the road in need of your time and talents, or if interested, share your program with even more of your extended family or neighbors from around the area who currently struggle with learning difficulties. Many unique populations to serve; individuals or families seeking help because of reading difficulties, copping difficulties, or change of life difficulties. The staff at Overlook Farm provides pet, horse and small farm animal learning lessons to clients at our Lakota, Iowa farm and also provide help and training for those individuals interested in the set up and hosting of Special Olympics equestrian training programs and 4-H learning programs at their own facilities. Our highly qualified and dedicated volunteer staff of professionals are proud to offer these services to you at no cost.
