The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 8am this morning for the following counties, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, Shelby, Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Audubon, Boone, Carroll, Cass, Clarke, Crawford, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Greene, Guthrie, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Story, Tama, Taylor, Union, Wapello, Warren and Wayne.

Thunderstorms are currently moving through the northern portions of the state early this morning along with some storms in eastern Nebraska. These storms will have the capability of producing very strong straightline winds (up to 80mph) and large hail. The storms, at least the severe ones should stay west of US Hwy 63.
