The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 3am Sunday morning for the following counties, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Ida, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sioux, Woodbury, Black Hawk, Bremer, Butler, Calhoun, Cerro Gordo, Emmet, Franklin, Grundy, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Humboldt, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Sac, Webster, Winnebago, Worth, Wright, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek.
Thunderstorms, some of them severe are moving through Minnesota and South Dakota into NE Nebraska. The movement of these storms had been to the SE around 25-35 mph. The main threats with these storms will be damaging straightline winds and possibly some large hail.
