A few light rain showers with some embedded thunder and lightning across the far southern sections continues moving through the eastern and southeastern parts of the state early in the morning. The rain is dissipating across the US Hwy 20 and 30 corridor so little if any rain will be seen from Dubuque south to the Quad Cities later this morning. A capped enviroment led to the “lack” of any severe weather especially east of I-35. The cold front will be out of the state by sunrise this morning, and except for a shower across the SE, the skies will become partly to mostly sunny once more, with less humidity. Although temperatures will still be in the 80s to around 90, heat indices will not be anywhere close to what they were yesterday. Dry weather will continue into the weekend before another chance of showers and thunderstorms moves back in for Sunday into Monday.
