The Storm Prediction Center has issued a TORNADO Watch effective until 7pm for the following counties, Howard, Mitchell, Allamakee, Winneshiek, Floyd, Chickasaw, Fayette and Clayton (all in NC and NE Iowa).
Thunderstorms have already developed to the east of the Twin Cities in western Wisconsin this morning and more development is possible SWward into northern Iowa. Tornadoes, strong straightline winds and large hail will be the main threats in and close to the watch area through early evening. Heavy rain is also possible.
