The complex of showers and embedded thunderstorms have moved into the eastern sections of the state this afternoon. Along with the storms that fired along the US Hwy 30 corridor a few hours ago, very heavy rain has fallen in EC Iowa. Flash Flood Warnings are in effect for all or portions of Benton, Cedar, Clinton, Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Linn and Scott counties until 10:15pm. As much as 2-4 inches of rain have already fallen and another 1-2 inches is possible this afternoon. Flash Flooding is already occuring near Vinton in Benton County and in Marion in Linn County. If you come across a flooded roadway, turn around don’t drown!
