Numerous Flood Advisories This PM

A number of counties in the central parts of the state have been or are still under flood advisories through the evening hours. At least 1-2 inches of rain has fallen in some places from Waterloo to Fort Dodge and also in SW Iowa, where up to 3 inches has fallen so far since Midnight with more heavy rain on the way from the SW. The leading edge of the rain has moved to a Prairie Du Chien to Cedar Rapids to Ottumwa line, with the heaviest rain falling from near Cedar Rapids to north of Ottumwa. Another batch of moderate to heavy rain is set to move into the state from Missouri in the next few hours, which will likely cause more flood advisories or even flash flood warnings to be issued later tonight and early tomorrow morning. Firework Displays may be OK in NW Iowa (mainly North and West of Fort Dodge), other areas of the state the chances are much less certain.
