The Storm Prediction Center has issued a TORNADO Watch effective until Midnight early Sunday morning for the following counties, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Harrison, Ida, Lyon, Monona, O’Brien, Osecola, Plymouth, Shelby, Sioux and Woodbury. Some of the counties were under a previous watch until 8pm and have been added to this new watch.

Thunderstorms have been developing across South Dakota this afternoon. Some of the storms will be capable of producing tornadoes along with large hail and damaging winds. Already this afternoon, a tornado warned storm is moving south of Mitchell SD. That storm will move into NW Iowa around 6:30pm.
