The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 3am Sunday morning for the following counties, Emmet, Humboldt, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Allamakee, Audubon, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Cerro Gordo, Chickasaw, Clayton, Crawford, Dallas, Fayette, Floyd, Franklin, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Howard, Jasper, Marshall, Mitchell, Polk, Poweshiek, Sac, Story, Tama, Webster, Winnebago, Winneshiek, Worth and Wright.
Thunderstorms are moving into NW Iowa early this evening. These storms will move through the state during the evening and overnight hours and will have the capability of producing large hail and damaging straight line winds. Along with that, some brief heavy rain is also possible as well.
