The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 3am Saturday morning for the following counties, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Calhoun, Franklin, Greene, Grundy, Hamilton, Hardin, Humboldt, Jasper, Marshall, Pocahontas, Polk, Poweshiek, Sac, Story, Tama, Webster, Wright, Cerro Gordo, Emmet, Hancock, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Winnebago, Clay, Dickinson, O’Brien, Osceola, Buena Vista and Cherokee.
Thunderstorms continue to move into the northern portions of the state out of southern Minnesota. Expect the main threats from these storms to be large hail and damaging straight line winds upwards of 70mph as these storms continue moving to the SE between 30-35mph
