Moderate Risk of Severe Weather For Tuesday

Severe Weather Outlook for Tuesday

It’s Back! The infamous moderate risk of severe weather has been outlooked by the Storm Prediction center for Tuesday for most of the state (except the far eastern and southeastern counties). The rest of the state is under a slight risk. The main threats will be large hail (best chances west of I-35), isolated tornadoes (statewide) and damaging straight line winds (the highest threat of the three and also statewide).

Thunderstorms are expected to form into another MCS/Derecho and sweep across the state late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening. There could be widespread wind damage with these storms along with the hail and tornado threat as well as the chance of heavy rain that could cause flash flooding. But remember, there was a moderate risk on Sunday which got trimmed little by little until it was dropped later in the day and no severe weather occurred, but chances are that this won’t be a bust like Sunday.
