Two More Days of Possible Severe Weather

Even though Sunday was a real bust for severe weather across the state, there are still two more days of severe weather possible across the state. There is a slight risk of severe weather statewide both today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday). The main threats will be large hail and damaging winds from possible mesoscale convective systems (MCS) or derechoes. The same frontal boundary is still in the area, and continued chances of shower and thunderstorm development will continue as long as the front is still situated nearby. To repeat, for the umpteenth time, along with the threat of severe weather, there will be a good chance of heavy rain along with these storms. Any heavy rain on the already saturated soils across the state (namely the southern half) will excerbate the river flooding already taking place and may also lead to rapid rises in area creeks and streams.
