Severe Weather Shortly in SW Iowa

A complex of thunderstorms is beginning to move into the southwestern portions of the state this evening. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued until 3am Monday morning for the western and southwestern portions of the state mainly south of US Hwy 30 and west of US Hwy 169. There is another MCS/Derecho event taking place once again in northern Kansas. This will miss the state of Iowa to the south as it will sweep through the northern sections of Missouri later tonight into tomorrow morning, however there is still a chance for some more storms to fire along the Missouri River valley in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa tonight. Some of the storms in eastern Nebraska have dropped very large hail up to the size of baseballs in some locales. Along with that, some strong damaging wind gusts are also possible with these storms as they move off to the east through the overnight hours.
