The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 5am for the following counties, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Ida, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sioux and Woodbury. The main threats will be large hail up to the size of golf balls or larger and damaging wind gusts up to 70mph. Along with the severe threats as has been typical with the thunderstorms over the last 2 weeks or so, heavy rain is also a possibility and some flash flooding is possible with any storms that train over the same area.
