First off a reason as to why the blog was not updated between 6:15 and about 8:30pm, as I posted the Flash Flood Warning for Tama County, the squall line hit my location and the power began to flicker. So as to save my internet access, I shut everything down and waited out the storm. Just as the storm began to depart, the lightning became more vivid and the power went out, which didn’t come back on until 8:20pm.
During the blog outage time, the squall line has quickly moved into western Illinois down into extreme southeast Iowa. There was another tornado warning south of Des Moines a few hours ago as well. Heavy rain has been the BIG story with these storms. Numerous counties are under Flash Flood Warnings until late this evening or early tomorrow morning. A number of river flood warnings have been issued as well. A blog post on those will be forthcoming when the weather begins to quiet down.
There will be no Weekly Forecast Video this week due to the severe weather that has taken place today. There will not be ample time for me to produce it.
After all the “Action” of today, tomorrow will be the anthesis of today, quiet, DRY and sunny with highs in the low to mid 80s.
