Flash Flood Watch until Friday Morning

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issed a Flash Flood Watch for the following counties, Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Audubon, Cass, Clarke, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Guthrie, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Taylor, Union, Wapello, Warren and Wayne. This watch goes into effect at 10pm tonight and will be in effect until 7am tomorrow morning. Thunderstorms are expected to move through the watch area this evening and during the overnight hours. Heavy rain is expected with many of these storms, along with the saturated soil from recent heavy rains in central and southern Iowa, flash flooding will be possible with any thunderstorm that moves over the watch area. Remember, if you come across a flooded road, turn around don’t drown.

NOTE: A Flash Flood Watch is now in effect from 7pm this evening until 7am Friday morning for these counties as well, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, Shelby
