The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 7am this morning for the following counties, Cherokee, Ida, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sioux and Woodbury. A large squall line currently moving through eastern South Dakota and northern Nebraska will sweep into the northwestern parts of the state during the early morning hours. Large hail and especially damaging wind gusts up to and over 70mph will be the main threats with these storms as they continue to move off to the east at 30mph. Expect warnings in the northwestern part of the state after 2am.
