The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Flash Flood watch from 7pm this evening until 7pm Saturday evening for the following counties, Benton, Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Lee, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington. Thunderstorms that are expected to move through the EC and southeastern parts of the state over the next 24 hours may drop 1-2 inches of rain with some isolated heavier totals. Some flash flooding is possible on any area creek and stream with any thunderstorms that may move through.

NOTE: The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Flash Flood watch effective at 9pm this evenin until 1pm Saturday afternoon for the following counties, Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Audubon, Boone, Cass, Clarke, Dallas, Davis, Decature, Guthrie, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Story, Tama, Taylor, Union, Wapello, Warren and Wayne.
