* AT 326 PM CDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER THE WARNED AREA. RADAR ESTIMATES THAT AS MUCH AS 2 TO 3.5 INCHES OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN FROM NEAR DEWITT…TO GRAND MOUND AND DONAHUE. THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP AND MOVE OVER THE WARNED AREA RESULTING IN ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL AND INCREASING THE THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING.
* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO BENNETT…LOWDEN…CLARENCE…WHEATLAND…GRAND MOUND…DEWITT AND CALAMUS.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF FLOOD-PRONE AND LOW LYING AREAS. MOVE IMMEDIATELY FROM THESE AREAS TO HIGHER GROUND.
FLASH FLOODING IS LIKELY ON AMES…BARBER…MUD AND HICKORY CREEKS.
FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS…HIGHWAYS AND STREETS…UNDERPASSES AND LOW LYING URBAN AND RURAL AREAS IS LIKELY.
PLEASE REPORT ANY FLOODING OR DAMAGE TO YOUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FOR RELAY TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
