A dense fog advisory has been issued until mid-morning for the following counties, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Benton, Linn, Jones, Jackson, Iowa, Johnson, Cedar, Clinton, Muscatine, Scott, Keokuk, Washington, Louisa, Jefferson, Henry, Des Moines, Van Buren, Lee, Winneshiek, Allamakee, Floyd, Chickasaw, Fayette and Clayton. Visibility will be reduced to a few hundred feet in some places through the mid-morning hours. Make sure to use low beams if you plan on driving around in the next few hours.
A Wind advisory will go into effect late this morning or midday (depending on NWS office) and will be in effect until 7pm this evening for the following counties, Lyon, Osecola, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth, Sioux, O’Brien, Clay, Palo Alto, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Plymouth, Cherokee, Buena Vista, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Woodbury, Ida, Sac, Calhoun, Webster, Hamilton, Monona, Crawford, Carroll, Greene, Boone, Harrison, Shelby, Audubon, Guthrie, Pottawattamie and Cass. Winds will begin to gust up to 40-45 mph with sustained winds between 25-30mph from the south and southwest. Anyone driving a high profile vehicle on east-west roads later this afternoon into the evening may have difficulty.
