Heavy Rain This Week

QPF Chart through Friday evening

Two storm systems are expected to effect the state this upcoming week. Both of them will have the chance to dump quite a lot of rain across the state through Friday evening. The chart (above) shows that most of the state may see upwards of 2-3 inches of rain through Friday, with some locales seeing as much as 4 inches. Severe Weather is possible in the extreme southern parts of the state on Monday. There is a slight risk of severe weather mainly south of a Council Bluffs to Indianola to Burlington line. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats with any storms that may skirt the southern tiers of counties. The main severe weather threat will likely be down in Kansas and Oklahoma into western Missouri where a tornado outbreak will be possible there.
