Slight Risk of Severe Weather Thursday

Severe Weather Threat for Thursday

The Storm Prediction Center has outlined a slight risk of severe weather for Thursday and Thursday night for a portion of Iowa. This is mainly west of a line from Cresco to Corydon except in the northwestern part of the state.

A storm system is expected to move through the plains state trailing a cold front through the central part of the state. Thunderstorms are expected to rapid develop and become severe with large hail and damaging winds being the main threat. Also an isolated tornado is possible as well. The threat will slowly diminish after sunset Thursday evening with isolated large hail and damaging winds threats persisting into the overnight hours.
