The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 9pm for the following counties, Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Audubon, Boone, Carroll, Cass, Clarke, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Greene, Guthrie, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Story, Tama, Taylor, Union, Wapello, Warren, Wayne, Benton, Henry, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Linn, Van Buren and Washington.

The main threat will be large hail with secondary wind threats. Storms are currently moving into Iowa from Missouri and are also in and around the Des Moines Metro moving NE. More storms are likely to fire this afternoon and this evening.
