The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch which will go into effect at 7pm this evening and will be in effect until 7pm Tuesday evening for the following counties, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Linn, Muscatine and Scott. Heavy rain from thunderstorms may cause flash flooding on area creeks and streams tonight into Tuesday. Rainfall amounts may exceed 1-2 inches in these locations by Tuesday especially if areas get repeated thunderstorm or heavy rain activity.

UPDATE: Flash Flood Watch now in effect from 7pm this evening until 1pm Tuesday afternoon for the following counties, Audubon, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Dallas, Franklin, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hardin, Humboldt, Jasper, Marshall, Polk, Poweshiek, Story, Tama, Webster and Wright.
